IMPORTANT NOTES FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF (@17.03.2020)
UCQ takes the health and wellbeing of both staff and students very seriously; we are doing everything possible to ensure core activities are protected. Given the Covid-19 developments, we are planning a number of scenarios to ensure we are fully prepared in protecting our students and staff.
Degree Apprenticeships
From Monday 16 March 2020, we will suspend physical classroom lectures and tutorials for all of our degree apprenticeships. In their place, remote, condensed lectures will go ahead as originally scheduled using Go to Meeting (to be recorded), supported by email documentation, readings, resources and remote contact/further tutorials. As you may be aware other universities have already taken this action.
Degree Apprentices will receive invitations from module leads to remote lectures, in addition to supplementary documentation and pre-reading. Dates of sessions will be as originally scheduled; it is advisable to attend these sessions from a quiet room, using a computer with microphone/camera to ensure you have an interactive experience. As and when the situation improves, we will revert to physical classroom delivery sessions.
All other Adult Learning
UCQ staff are safely working from home and as an organisation we are fully operational. We are here to support all of our students, referrers and employers, and are willing and able to do so remotely.
We are in the process of remodelling our Essential Work Skills courses and will shortly transfer them to an online platform that will facilitate safe, secure and accessible learning and and assessment. Once transferred, anyone that needs to be notified will be contacted. All students who have started classroom courses with UCQ will have the opportunity to complete their programme with us; everyone who was looking to enrol with us can still do so.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time, and please do not hesitate to contact us, if there is anything we can do to support you.
