This programme has been carefully designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours required for working in a Health and Social Care setting. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector and develops the skills employers are looking for.
The programme aims to introduce knowledge in the following areas relating to working in adult social care:
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Personal Development
- Role of the Social Care Worker
- Handling Information
- Health and Safety
- Safeguarding
- Duty of Care
- Person-centred Approaches
- Communication
In addition to the Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care qualification, you will also undertake additional units which will boost your skills in receiving and checking incoming supplies.
Following your programme UCQ will support you to progress into work or volunteering, providing advice and support in job search, application form and CV completion and interview preparation.

Duration: 3 Weeks; 30 hours per week
Upon successful completion of the programme students will achieve an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for Adult Social Care
plus:
Additional unit: Receiving and Checking Incoming Supplies

Each student will receive a dedicated tutor who will provide classroom sessions supported by study materials and assessment packs.
